Farro – a collaboration between chef Vardaan Marwah and entrepreneur Aman Talreja (Sip & Savour Co.), recently opened its doors in Koregaon Park, Pune.
Farro is an invitation for guests to embark on an extraordinary dining experience where every detail reflects their shared vision of artistry, flavour, and hospitality. Named after the ancient grain also known as Khapli or Emmer, the menu pays homage to the grain’s journey through history and its introduction to India, said a release .
The restaurant’s ethos is rooted in celebrating heritage while embracing bold, contemporary expressions. From the moment you step in, Farro envelopes you in a calming ambiance. Beige toned walls, curvilinear forms, and lime-plastered interiors create a tactile, earthy warmth, enhanced by accents of teak wood, terracotta, and lush foliage that bring in the outdoors. A stunning highlight wall adorned with handmade clay cups and whimsical hand-painted murals by Za Works bridges rustic charm with artistic sophistication, while a carefully curated soundtrack of lo-fi and jazz completes the sensory experience.
Aman Talreja, co-Founder Farro, said, “With Farro, our fifth creation under the umbrella of Sip & Savour Co., we’ve envisioned more than just a restaurant; FARRO is a space where tradition and modernity converge. It’s a place of connection and celebration, where every detail, from the flavours on the plate to the textures in the interiors, is designed to make diners feel part of a story—one that’s steeped in history yet forward-looking.”
At the heart of Farro is its meticulously crafted menu that spans global influences, blending time-tested ingredients and techniques with modern flair.
Culinary operations are led by chef partner Vardaan Marwah, whose vision transcends conventional dining.
“Farro, often called the ‘pharaoh’s grain,’ has journeyed from the Fertile Crescent to ancient Rome and eventually to India. For me, it symbolizes resilience and the diverse culinary traditions it’s encountered. At Farro, we’ve drawn from its storied past to craft a menu that reflects its origins and evokes personal memories. Dishes are inspired by my childhood, carrying a nostalgic warmth, and reinterpreted flavours from regions the grain has touched. Each dish is a labour of love, designed to transcend the ordinary,” said Marwah.
Farro’s culinary offerings are complemented by its signature cocktail menu, “11”, featuring 11 thoughtfully crafted libations.
